About Melissa Cameron, MA, LMFT
Associate Clinician

Meet your needs in this space.

Loneliness and the pain that life brings can often be isolating and make reaching out intimidating. In a world that can feel so unforgiving, therapy has to be a place free of judgment and full of safety.

I care deeply about creating that environment with you in our work together. I always strive for you to feel supported and validated in what you’re experiencing, regardless of what the world may say about it.

As a telehealth clinician, I’m committed to providing exemplary care through the comfort and convenience of virtual sessions. Over and over, my clients recognize that the ease of logging into an online appointment does not affect the quality of care they receive – they will often share just how seen and understood they feel in our work together. I have the honor of celebrating their wins with them across the screen.

Therapy is being open about your emotions.

When you begin therapy with me, you can trust that we’re in it together for the journey ahead. I’m committed to creating new pathways that lead you closer to your goals.

Some of my special focuses include working within complicated adult/parent relationships, infertility struggles, and spirituality issues. While I have an extensive academic background to support my clinical work, I also share that my life experiences have formed the empathy crucial to my ability to sit with you in whatever pain you may be experiencing.

Our safety together is genuinely transformative.

Hello, I’m Melissa!

Growing up in Texas means I’m probably always going to admire a patch of wild bluebonnets, and these days, I’ll stumble upon them most in Austin, where I live with my husband.

I love to try new restaurants, but I have a particular fondness for the Migas at Kerbey Lane (but honestly, that seems true of all of the Lakehouse Clinicians!).

I am a sucker for a good dystopian novel, but I could also recite most of the lines from Gilmore Girls, so I consider that I strike a good balance. And if you happen to find yourself perusing the archives of Texas Monthly, you might stumble upon a picture of me at the ripe age of 7 months old, proving that a love for Texas starts young.
